I want to share with you a glimpse of my gear. I’ve provided links to comparable products from Decathlon and Amazon. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to find identical items. My focus here is to offer you an easy entry into outdoor activities.

Tools: Knife, Saw, Axe, and whatever else you need

Opinel No. 8

The Opinel is my all-purpose knife, a companion I’ve carried for many years. It’s still sharp, versatile, and straightforward to use. The price is definitely a plus. Probably the best beginner’s knife for outdoor activities!

Morakniv

The Mora knife is likely the most common knife in the outdoor scene. The significant advantage is its good quality without being too expensive. Losing special knives in the woods is always disheartening, so the Mora is perfect.

Klappsäge

A folding saw is genuinely important in nature. It’s hard to replace, as a knife can’t saw. The saw will make many tasks in the woods easier, and there are good beginner models. Over time, you can upgrade to a better one once you know the size that suits you.

Feuerstahl

Fire-making skills are essential too. Besides matches and lighters, the fire steel is often the next step. So, a fire steel is definitely worth it for your own gear, as it allows you to make a fire in any weather.

Sleep systwms: More than just the sleeping bag

Isomatte

There are various sleeping mats. I want to introduce you to a super-lightweight sleeping mat. You can inflate it, and it becomes very comfortable. The significant advantage is the weight. You can easily carry it in your backpack.

Transport, storage, and packing

Paracord

Paracord is probably the best rope for beginners because of its versatility and high load capacity. Even though many natural fibers are simpler, Paracord has now established itself as the standard.
